Composite and timber decking in Girona and the Costa Brava.

We design and install composite and timber decking for pools, terraces and gardens across the province of Girona. Every deck starts with an estimate from your photos and a 3D design.

Before and after

From worn decking to composite that lasts.

The timber decking around the communal pool in Albons was grey and worn. We replaced it with 125 m² of Legro Natural Teak composite on an aluminium substructure.

The substructure · Expert by Bruggan

The foundation you don’t see.

On terraces, roof terraces and around pools we mostly use a Bruggan Expert aluminium substructure on adjustable pedestals. The aluminium profiles and stainless steel fittings stand up to damp and salty coastal air. The pedestals adjust in height, compensate for any fall and let air flow under the deck. Depending on the site and what you’re after, we also build it in tropical hardwood or in treated pine protected with joist tape.

  • Adjustable pedestals from 15 to 220 mm high, with slope correction of up to 7%.
  • Up to 1,000 kg per pedestal.
  • Acoustic tape under the profiles: no creaking on roof terraces and balconies.

Composite decking in Sant Celoni
Bruggan · NewTechWood · Legro Natural

Composite

Needs hardly any maintenance and copes well with sun and chlorine. Up to a 25-year manufacturer’s warranty.

Premium hardwood

Warmer to the touch and to the eye. It needs regular maintenance: we’ll explain how and how often.

Treated pine · Thermo-treated pine

Pine

The most affordable option. Thermo-treated pine is more stable and has a toasted tone; we recommend a protective stain once the work is finished.

FAQs

Before you ask for a quote.

Composite or timber?

Composite needs hardly any maintenance; natural timber is warmer but needs regular maintenance. We bring samples of both to the site visit.

Do you maintain the decking?

Yes, on decking we’ve installed ourselves. Day-to-day cleaning is down to the client: soap and water. We take care of the technical maintenance: checking fixings, sanding out marks on composite and re-staining timber decks. We’ll let you know when it’s due, depending on the material.

What’s under the decking?

A substructure in aluminium, tropical hardwood or treated pine with protective tape, depending on the site and what you’re after. In every case the deck is level, ventilated and kept off the ground.

Do you work in my area?

Yes, if you’re within an hour of Girona: the whole province, from Figueres and Roses to Olot, Blanes and the Costa Brava. Depending on the project, we also work in and around Barcelona.

How long does decking take?

Pool decking of around 30 m² takes 4 to 5 days. It depends on the substructure, access, whether it’s a terrace or a courtyard, and the weather.

What guarantee do I get?

Two guarantees: the manufacturer’s warranty on the material (20 to 25 years on composite, depending on the brand) and ours: a 2-year installation guarantee, in writing in the quote, on every project carried out to our technical proposal.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the area, the material and the substructure. With photos and rough measurements we can give you an estimate within 24–48 hours, without visiting your home. The fixed quote follows the site visit, together with the 3D design.
